Lori Childers

Lori Childers slowly paints mysterious works that utilize the interaction of unformed spaces with drawn objects. The contrast in styles and their place in art, and society more broadly, form relationships on the canvas, alluding to things made and memories felt.

From her studio in Sarasota she paints with abandon. These artworks are in private collections throughout the nation including The Royal Bank of Canada and she was selected by Saatchi Art Curators for their best paintings of 2021 collection. Arts & Central restaurant, purchased a large oil painting from Childers for their beautifully architecturally designed dining room and 40 Carrots Children's Center where they acquire paintings through grant funding for their new therapy center.

Childers is an active member in two selective regional art organizations which gives her the opportunity to be in community with fellow artists. A graduate of the State University of New York with a painting concentration, she has continued her learning in international master classes in painting.

“I create a feeling of spacey gravity with image and mark making languages that bring the viewer into a conversation. These paintings are a distilled look at our shared landscape, as comfortable as home and a bold contemporary view of something never before seen.”
